Yafei (b. 1999) is a performance artist, filmmaker and writer based in Beijing and London. She explores gender performativity, dysmorphia, experience of space, and neurodiversity through mediums such as video art, stop motion, performance, and pole dance. Her works The Flower and Shadow of the Notes have been awarded Best Animation by Shorttakes Festival and Best Screenplay by International Youth Short Film Competition, respectively. She also participated as a performer in the exhibition “F**k Me” at X Museum Beijing. Yafei holds a BA in Comparative Literature and Film from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London.
